 PEPPER CORNS SWEET SOUP


Ingredients:

  • Pepper corns -5
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Garlic - 5 flakes (crushed)
  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seed powder  - 1/2 tsp
  • Onion - 1 (chopped)
  • Tomatoes - 1 (chopped)
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Salt to taste
  • Water - 3 cups

Soaked Together:

  • Jaggery - 1 tbsp
  • Tamarind - 1 tbsp
  • Water - 1 cup 

Method:

In a large bowl pour soaked jaggery, tamarind and water and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in between. 

In a pan add oil and the rest of the ingredients, except water, for 3 minutes.

Mix in with the soaked jaggery syrup  and 3cups of water and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain, and pour into glasses. Serve hot.
